Qualsafe Level 3 First Aid at Work

Every company is required a nominated first aider. This 3-day face-to-face course has been designed to accommodate those appointed to act as a first aider in their workplace or have a specific responsibility to provide first aid.

This HSE-compliant qualification includes practical written assessments, with certification valid for three years.

Learners will cover various topics, including CPR and the safe use of an AED, casualty management, trauma care, medical emergencies, record keeping and infection prevention.

Basic Life Support and the Safe use of an AED (including Anaphylaxis)

Our BLS course is designed to refresh your team’s knowledge and skills in an emergency. Meeting all current legislation and guidelines, you can expect a practical session aimed at ensuring your team is confident and competent to act when needed. 
 

  • Course Structure: delivered over 4 hours, this course combines theory with practical scenarios covering topics such as cardiac arrest, heart attacks, major illness, and anaphylaxis.

Immediate Life Support for Deteriorating Patients

Maintain the skills of your team and ensure you meet the recommended requirements for annual refresher training.

Our Out of Hospital Adult Immediate Life Support course equips healthcare professionals and first responders with skills required to manage deteriorating patients and cardiac scenarios.

Course Structure: Delivered over 1 day. The programme is aligned with national resuscitation guidelines. It includes airway management, safe defibrillation practice and coordinated and team-based resuscitation drills to strengthen clinical performance. Upon completion, this course will award the learner with 8 CPD hours and is valid for 1 year.

Manual Handling and Moving People

Ensure your ambulance staff have the essential techniques for the safe movement of people and fulfil your mandatory training compliance.

Course Structure: The 1-day CPD-accredited course is designed with ambulance staff in mind, providing your team with the knowledge and skills to safely move and handle people, reducing the risk of injury to patients, your staff and others.

Aligned with the core skills framework, this course incorporates the use of a carry chair, stair climber, sliding sheets, and transfer board (banana board), amongst others.

The course is delivered face-to-face at our centre in Radlett by experienced ambulance clinicians.
 

Learners will undertake practical assessments in lifting and moving a weighted manakin, wheelchair clamping, and assisting a patient on and off an ambulance safely.

Learners need to be aged 17 or older on the first day of the course and should already have an understanding and experience of ambulance service procedures.

Upon completion, a CPD certificate will be provided for each learner, and they will be awarded 6 hours of CPD points. The certificate is valid for 2 years.
